About the memorial: To provide and place a memorial tablet on the north wall of the parish church of Metheringham. That the said tablet is to be of Brass engraved and oxidized, mounted on oak and about four feet by about two feet eight inches with the following inscription thereon namely: “To the Glory of God and in loving memory of the men of Metheringham who laid down their lives in the Great War 1914 –1918” (here follows list of names) “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his live for his friends”.
