About the memorial: Affixed to the north wall of the nave is the WW2 memorial, which consists of an Oak backboard 530 x 670mm, this section has raised decorative edges on which is mounted a polished copper? tablet 410 x 540mm attached to the wood by fasteners whose heads are in the shape of roses. There is a small cross etched at the top centre of the metal, the words 'In thoughtful' appear to the left of the cross and 'remembrance' to its right, the word of is placed directly beneath the cross. Toward the metal plaques base appear the words 'Who gave their lives for the cause of freedom in the war of 1939 - 1945. Beneath this is etched 'They were a wall to us both by day and night', while beneath this is written 'Grant unto them o Lord eternal rest'. A list of 4 names appears at the memorials centre. Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
