About the memorial: Be aware that google maps wrongly describes this church as Holy trinity Bothenhampton which does exist but several miles to the south, The IWM register describes the memorials as - Rectangular handwritten paper roll in a plain wooden frame , the longer axis vertical . Within a plain red single line border at top a plain cross and the title in red , below that the dedication in black and then the names in three columns , grouped by period and within that by arm of service . Names of those who died denoted by a plain red cross . At the bottom of the middle column of names is a sketch of a tree in leaf likely to have been incorporated by the calligrapher as a spacer to balance the lengths of the three columns .
