About the memorial: A memorial to the men of Holy Trinity parish who fell in the war and to Miss Allwood, V.A.D., was unveiled in Holy Trinity Church, Louth, on Thursday evening, by Col. E. Kyme Cordeaux, C.B.E. It consists of a handsome brass tablet in oak mount, and bears 62 names with the inscription “To the Glory of God, and in proud and grateful memory of those on Holy Trinity parish and congregation who laid down their lives in the Great War, 1914 – 1918. These nobly played their parts for God, and King and Home. They gave their all.” The Rector of Louth (the Rev. C.H. Lenton, R.D.), was the preacher, and said that for the sake of the men who had given their lives we ought to endeavour to be better Christians.
