About the memorial: Memorial Plaque remembers the crew of 28 OTU Wellington MF200 killed close to this site on 19/04/44 The aircraft had departed Wymeswold at 0250 for circuit training For unknown reasons, the aircraft crashed just fifteen minutes after departure on the edge of the village of Normanton on Stour with the loss of all four crew
