About the memorial: Plaque about 12inches by 8inches on wood backing affixed to a stone about 18 inches high, the whole was enclosed by chicken wire in 2015,in farmland The aircraft was returning to RAF Bottesford from a raid on Turin with significant damage sustained from Anti-Aircraft Fire over the target. The Pilot waited until the last possible moment in order to lower the undercarriage. Sadly as he did so, the aircraft suffered in-flight structural failure, broke up and crashed one mile short of the runway. All the crew were killed

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
