About the memorial: The IWM register is unclear on which church this is in, though the two candidates are next door to each other. Their entry reads - 1930 newspaper report of memorial plaque being unveiled. It is unclear if this is St John's Church (where the WW1 memorial is a stained glass window) or Bonnygate United Presbyterian Church (now Cupar Baptist Church at 79 Bonnygate)- the latter seems to be the more likely. The entry from The Scotsman reads - Monday 08 December 1930 Cupar Church War Memorial In Bonnygate Church , Cupar, yesterday, a memorial plaque to the men of the congregation who died in the war was unveiled. The plaque was gifted by Mrs Campbell, Castlefield, Cupar.
