Goss was the Bomb Aimer on 106 Sqn Lancaster JB648 ZN-D that had departed from Metheringham at 1845 for Ops Frankfurt on 23/03/44 Over the target area the aircraft was intercepted and shot down by either; Uffz Robert Koch (VI/NJG1) who claimed a Lancaster 6200M WNW of Frankfurt at 2210 for his 4th Abschusse Or Fw Wilhelm Steiger (IX/JG30) who claimed a Lancaster at 2203 and another at 2220 for his 2nd and 3rd Abschusse
