About the memorial: A red/brown wooden triptych , the bottom , sides and tops of the two outer panels straight . the top of the centre panel curved outwards forming a canopy . Round all a wide border , with deeply carved leaves and fruits . In the centre panel is the carved figure of Christ crucified , with a halo , the word "INRI" on the top of the upright and above this a screen with ornamented vertical columns , the two outer columns with a trefoil and the centre column a cinquefoil culminating just above the top of the crucifix ,. The two outer panels show the names , subdivided by year of service and constructed of wooden letters standing proud of the panels and at the top of each panel a carved ornamental column culminating with a cinquefoil above the topmost name .

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.
