About the memorial: F/L R.N. Stubbs DFC DFM - a member of the AFDU (but temporarily attached to 103 Sqn) was Pilot of 103 Sqn Lancaster W4857 PM-V that had departed Elsham Wolds on 27/02/43 for a routine training flight During the flight, the aircraft suffered partial failure of the tail assembly.
