About the memorial: Memorial to 2nd Lieutenent Edwin Alan Morris, 3rd Battalion South Wales Borderers, attached to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Only son of Alfred (school master) and Lily Morris of Hong Kong. Baptised in Margam, Glamorganshire on 30 Oct 1898. Died aged 19 years in Palestine from wounds received on 30 Nov 1918. He is buried in grave XIII. E. 4. of the Gaza War Cemetery. Commonwealth War Grave Commission website gives death on 1 Dec 1917.
