Old Clee itself is an old Saxon village, set on an island amongst the marsh of old Lincolnshire. The church which dates from Saxon times was once the centre of the village which has now been swallowed by a residential area. The memorial consisting of a stained glass window and a brass plate is situated inside the church, in the nave, against the south wall, close to the main door.
