About the memorial: Memorial to Captain Eric Maudslay Simpson, psc, 9th Battalion The Worcestershire Regiment. Brigade Major 39 Infantry Brigade, 13th Division. Son of John Millington Simpson and Amelia Mary Simpson (nee Jackson), of "The Elms". Spilsby Road, Boston, Lincolnshire. Educated at Boston Grammar School. Served in the Dardanelles and Mesopotamia. Mentioned in Despatches. Died of enteritis at Abu Roman Mound, Mesopotamia aged 35 years. He is buried in grave XXI. C. 20. of the Amara War Cemetery, Iraq. Death shown as 2 May 1916 on CWGC Website.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
