About the memorial: Grey stone Latin cross with ‘JMJ’ inscribed at centre, stands on three-tier base. Lettering in black lead over three steps to front, left and right side. Over upper two steps at rear.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.

Commemorated Loos Memorial. Panel 31 and 34. Francis Ingle Sowter. Second Lieutenant. 4th Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent Regiment). Died 9th August 1917. Son of (the late) George and Isabella Sowter of Brigg, Lincs. Interred Vis-En-Artois British Cemetery. V.A.25. Both commemorated Brigg Grammar School, St. John Roll of Honour, St. John Triptych and the War Memorial.
