About the memorial: THIS TABLET COMMEMORATES THE LOYALTY. COURAGE. DEVOTION AND SELF SACRIFICE OF THE 175 MEN AND WOMEN WHO WENT FROM THE SEVERAL PARISHES WITHIN THE AREA OF GLANFORD BRIGG RURAL DISTRICT AND WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES FOR THE CAUSE OF JUSTICE AND THE RIGHTS OF A FREE PEOPLE 1930 – 1945 THIS TABLET WAS PROVIDED BY BRIGG RURAL WAR SALVAGE ASSOCIATION (A VOLUNTARY BODY WHICH CONSISTED OF EQUAL MUMBERS OF MEMBERS OF THE WOMEN’S VOLUNTARY SERVICE AND MEMBERS OF THE BRIGG RURAL COUNCIL NOVEMBER 1946
