About the memorial: Memorial to Lieutenant William Douglas Maclean Trimmer, Hampshire Regiment. Son of Edward Douglas and Mary Kate Trimmer, of "Oakrigg," Walton-on-Thames, Surrey. Baptised on 6 Feb 1892 in Surbiton, Surrey. Gentleman Cadet at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst 1910-1911. Commissioned into the Hampshire Regiment Sep 1911. Killed in action at Died aged 22 years. Buried in Ploegsteert Churchyard, Hainaut, Belgium.
