About the memorial: 300 x 430 x 20mm Proposed by our petitioners William Jabez East, Horse dealer, and Elizabeth Ann East his wife to provide and place a memorial tablet on the south wall of the parish church of Brothertoft above the last pew and between the westernmost window and south door in memory of Gerard East who was killed in action in France 13th October 1915. That the said tablet is to be of Brass on Oak mounting about sixteen and a half inch by about eleven and a half inch Faculty Book 13, page 256, dated 5th April 1919.

"To the Glory of God and in loving memory of Gerard East. Killed in action in France Oct 13th 1915, aged 19 years". "Faithful until death". "His Name shall live for ever". Erected by his Father and Mother near the place he sat and worshipped.
