Description: Addition to Gravestone
About the memorial: Gravespace delineated by four square kerb sections with peon post to each corner, space is capped and green gravel covered with some vegetation contamination. Square vase within space and headstone is central and immediately forward of top kerb. Stone is basically horizontal rectangle but is slightly raised by square topped section to left side only, sides drop vertically. Large square recessed panel below raised top shows flower head and descending stem decoration, slim decorative recess to extreme right edge of stone. Dedication in faded black lead lettering between decoration, further lettering to bottom kerb.

Born and enlisted Grimsby, Lincs. Pre war regular soldier with 1st Bn, Lincolnshire Regiment, 13 years service. Buried Hamburg Cemetery. VI.B.1.
