About the memorial: A brick plinth with sloping top on which a rectangular blue metal plaque is affixed with an inscription in white lettering below the ship's insignia. On the front face of the plinth is a further rectangular blue plaque with an engraving of the ship above a commemoration and engravings of ribbons with battle honours.
