About the memorial: A large roughcast upright stone of remembrance with a metal plaque fixed to the front face bearing an inscription below insignia and emblems of the RAF Boy Entrants Association, . On the reverse of the stone a symbol of a four-winged propeller is carved into the stone. The stone stands at the centre of an enclosure comprising a paved area bounded by a slate bed, low brick wall and planting of shrubs. There are ten plinths of Staffordshire Blue brick at interval surrounding the stone, each with a metal plaque bearing the insignia of their respective training bases. The plinths are separated by low stone benches, each with a dedicatory metal plaque.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
