About the memorial: Framed printed commemoration of the use of the hospital by the British Army in WW1. This is possibly a proforma given to VAD hospitals and may not be the original location. Strathpeffer is said to have had 2 WW1 Military Hospitals- the Spa Hotel which was destroyed by fire in WW2 and the Nicolson MacKenzie Memorial Hospital (now a private house). Other sources show that the Highland Hotel was used in WW2, and so far as they indicate use of a specific building seem to be referring to The Spa Hotel also being used as a US Navy Hospital in WW1. Taking all sources together it is unclear if the Highland Hotel was used in WW1- thus this may have been transferred from elsewhere in Strathpeffer.
