Status: Lost/missing
Type: Non freestanding
Location: Unknown
Setting: Unknown
Description: Board/Plaque/ Tablet
Materials:
  • Metal Bronze
Lettering: Raised
Conflicts:
  • First World War (1914-1918)
About the memorial: Bronze nowy-headed wall mounted plaque on wooden frame. Wreath in relief at top with dates within, below which, the dedication, below which the names of the deatd within a border, and, below, names of those who served, all in relief. The memorial is lost as the agency no longer exists, I cannot even find its original address but the IWM Register says it was close to St Paul's Cathedral to the east. By all accounts it was a sensationalist and extremely unreliable outfit - one of its reporters faked letters from Jack the Ripper, and indeed invented this name for the murderer.
