About the memorial: Memorial to Lieutenant Colonel Drummond Samuel Waite Johnson, 2nd Battalion the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment. Son of James (engineer) and Christina Sarah Louisa Johnson. Husband of Leonie Mary Johnson, of Colchester, Essex. Educated at Rugby School 1919-1922. Gentleman Cadet at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst 1924. Commissioned into the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment on 29 Jan 1925. Killed in action aged 38 years. Buried in grave 2.N.10. of Beja War Cemetery, Beja, Tunisia.
