About the memorial: Memorial to 31902 Lieutenant Colonel John Elliot Cairnes, 50th Royal Tank Regiment, R.A.C. Son of Frederick Evelyn Cairnes and of Lucy Barbara Cairnes (nee Croft). Educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire. Gentleman Cadet at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Commissioned into the Royal Tank Regiment 29 Jan 1925. Instructor at the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Husband of June Cairnes (daughter of Henry Robert Jameson), of Howth, Co. Dublin, Irish Republic. Married in Apr 1932. Killed in action at the Mareth Line battle aged 38 years. Buried in Enfidaville War Cemetery, Enfidaville, Sousse, Tunisia.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
