About the memorial: Ornamental panel in shape of a scroll, blank section right hand side of a Roll of Honour from City Business Club. The City Business Club was founded in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1912 to promote the business and social interests of its members, who held 'executive' posts. The club held weekly luncheons with distinguished speakers and organised other social events. The first meeting of the club was held at the Grosvenor Restaurant, opposite Central Station, Glasgow, but throughout its history it met in many other venues in Glasgow, including the Windsor Hotel, Western Club and Arcade Cafe. The Club was incorporated as the City Business Club, Glasgow, Ltd in 1927 and in 1964 it went into voluntary liquidation. The archives are held in the University of Glasgow archive Centre, but the war memorial is in the Glasgow Museum Resource Centre (ID PP.1978.10.4)
