About the memorial: Memorial to Major John Gordon Campbell, MBE, MC, The Border Regiment. Son of Robert William and Clara Louise Campbell. Husband of Eileen E K Campbell (nee Chatfield) of Marylebone, London. Married in London Jan-Mar 1940. Gentleman Cadet at the RoyalMilitary College, Sandhurst 1916. Commissioned into The Border Regiment 16 Aug 1916. Deployed to France 9 Sep 1916. Promoted to Acting Captain commanding a Company 10 Nov 1917. Awarded the MC on 31 Dec 1918. Appointed the Intelligence Officer of the Castlebar Brigade, Ireland. Awarded the MBE in the New Years Honours List 1923. Retired from the Army 4 Apr 1935. Recalled for service in Sep 1939. Died on active service aged 45 years (46 on death registration). Cremated at Golders Green Crematorium.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
