About the memorial: Gravespace delineated by square kerbs with Peon post to each corner and centrally in bottom kerb, headstone inserted centrally in top kerb. Space is capped, gravel covered and holds large round vase within. Grey stone is vertical with oval top dropping to square topped shoulders, narrows below shoulders and widens again toward base, stands on large horizontal rectangular chamfered foundation. Large decorative wreath to headstone top centre flanked by (possibly ivy?) leaves to each side, fluted column type decoration to each side of stone and inscription in black lead lettering to centre.

Harry Sanders on 1892 birth record, 1901/1911 census and SDGW, Harry Saunders on CWGC. Private 201818. 8th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Killed in action 28th April 1917 (as SDGW/CWGC, note headstone date). Parents as above. Soldier unmarried. Born Holbeach St John, enlisted Holbeach and resident Holbeach St John, Lincs. Commemorated Chilli Trench Cemetery. Special Memorial C.19.
