About the memorial: Vertical rectangular headstone with Gothic top dropping to vertical sides. Stands on horizontal rectangular chamfered foundation. Large wheeled Moline cross in oval panel toward top centre, flower head and leaf decoration in angled triangular panel to each side. Faded black lead inscription beneath.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

Joseph Walter Staff. Private S/20889. 14th Battalion, Black Watch (Royal Highlanders). Killed in action 16th November 1917, aged 27 years. Son of John and Susannah Staff of 22A Crown Colony, Holbeach, Lincs. Born Holbeach, Lincs and enlisted Perth, Scotland. Buried Beersheba War Cemetery. L.44.
