About the memorial: In the chancel hanging on the north wall is a memorial to a Captain Harold Nicholson. The brass plate measures 660mm long by 440mm in width. It is on a wooden frame, and attached to the wall of the church. To place a tablet in cast bronze in brass with engraved lettering or in brass engraved and the letters filled in with cream enamel to commemorate the gift to the church of the electric lighting with the following inscription thereon, namely: - THE ELECTRIC LIGHT WAS PRESENTED TO THIS CHURCH BY OSCAR & MADELINE DIXON OF KENWICK HALL IN MEMORY OF CAPTAIN HARROLD W. NICHOLSON AND THE OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE 5th LINCOLNS WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN TAKING THE HOHENZOLLERN REDOUBT 13 OCT. 1915 Greater love have no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. The said tablet to be about two feet by about one foot three inches [610 x 380mm on 670 x 440mm wood back] and to be placed on the north wall of the chancel but outside of the Sanctuary.
