About the memorial: Place on the ledge of the east window (which is of the plain type) of the south aisle of the Parish Church of Leverton which has during and since the war been used as a shrine with cross, flowers and names of the men of Leverton who have served in the Great War, an oak triptych about five feet high and about 5 feet wide made out of oak from one of the old windmills in the parish. That in the central panel is to be a crucifix of carved wood with the words "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" at the foot. That on the left hand panel is to be the following inscription namely: "R.I.P. Dedicated as a thanksgiving for victory and peace, and in memory of the men of Leverton who gave their lives in the Great War 1814 0 1918". That on the right hand panel is to be the following inscription namely "R.I.P". (Names of seventeen men) That all of the above lettering is to be of carved wood, and the moulding of the triptych is in keeping with the with the old chancel screen. Faculty Book 14, page 54.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
