Status: On original site
Type: Non freestanding
Location: Internal
Setting: Inside a building - public/private
Description: Communion or Altar Ware
Materials:
  • Metal Silver
Lettering: Incised
Conflicts:
  • First World War (1914-1918)
About the memorial: The IWM Register labels this as Temple URC but acknowledges that this must be wrong as the URC was only formed in 1972 (actually they say 1971 but that is wrong). The URC merged the Congregational Church (a federation of independent churches with the Presbyterian Church of England. This church would not have been the latter but was probably linked to the former. So it is likely that the memorial remains on its original site. The Cofein website calls it the Temple Independent Chapel at the point of origin and this ties in with the idea of a Congregational Church.
