About the memorial: Information from IWM 11/3/20: 'Sports pavilion and playing fields with dedicatory tablet. Also two boards with the names of casualties of the First World War. This is surmounted by a central board bearing the school crest and dates 1914-1918. On the staircase landing are mounted two boards with the names of casualties of the Second World War. The Clubhouse is identified by a grey slate tablet with lighter lettering.' '2011: New clubhouse opened with memorial. 2011: A new tablet was commissioned following the move from Durrants Clubhouse to the new Clubhouse in Merchant Taylors' School, whose postal address is Northwood, Middlesex (London Borough of Hillingdon), but is situated in Hertfordshire. The tablet records the move from Durrants. 1937: Memorial clubhouse relocated from Teddington to Durrants Clubhouse. 1922: Memorial clubhouse dedicated at Teddington.'

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
