About the memorial: Description from IWM: 'Stone step base, supporting a stone tablet with names inscribed, above which is a Latin cross fleuree and supporting arch. Inscriptions on either side of arch'. Details of its relocation can be found in an article in the Links section of the record:' The memorial was saved when St Joseph’s Catholic Church, which stood at the top of Grouville Hill, opposite the Arsenal, was demolished in the early 1990s to make way for a residential development. It was placed in an out-of-the-way corner of La Croix Cemetery in Rue à Don until it was brought to Constable John Le Maistre’s attention by parishioners Bob Hambly and Peter Le Feuvre.' Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.

You can save your Pre-application enquiry form as you go along. Once submitted War Memorials Trust will respond.
