About the memorial: Russian Armed Forces: A Rock monumental to honour Russian Airmen who came to Scotland as part of a top secret mission has been installed in the grounds of a Perthshire Church. The Huge Obelisk arrived at Errol on 10 November 2020 as it had come by ship from St Petersburg, Russia. The monument is made from rare crimson Shoksha quartzite . Note that the plaque had been cast before COVID in Russia and it was in fact delayed until November 2020

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
