On Thursday 27 May 2010, two church congregations merged together, as one minister retires and the other takes charge. After 33 years as minister of Battlefield East church, the Rev Alan Raeburn will take his final service on June 13. On the same day, Mount Florida church will host its last service. It will then join Battlefield East (which had previously merged with Langside Church to become Clincarthill church under the leadership of the Rev Mike Gargrave. The service of union took place on Wednesday, June 16 at 7pm. Clincarthill is the name of the historic hill both churches are on — which is why the name was chosen.”
