Location: Internal
Setting: Inside a building - public/private
Description: Stained glass window
Materials:
  • Glass Stained Glass
  • Timber Timber (any)
Lettering: Incised
Conflicts:
  • First World War (1914-1918)
About the memorial: No other details known- this does not appear to be the same window as is at Eskdale Green Outward Bound, but needs confirmation, as the Eskdale Green window was also relocated in 1976, from a different Manchester Chapel, maybe it has been taken back to Manchester. A number of attempts have been made to access Eskdale Outward Bound, but they have not responded to e-mails and I have yet to find them open. The Open Plaques website is clear that the photograph attached to this report (which had ben raised by me for the Cross Street chapel window) is at Eskdale Outward Bound with the window. To resolve the confusion which has arisen a visit to Cross Street Chapel, Manchester would be welcomed to determine definitively if we are dealing with one or two memorials.
