  • Metal Brass

  • Second World War (1939-1945)
About the memorial: Brass Plaque with inscribed lettering, all upper case. The wording shows that the plaque must date from after 1952, the union of the two churches. The East Church congregation merged with Leighton Church (formerly United Free Church but Church of Scotland since 1929 unification) in 1952 and this building became known as St Blane's Church henceforward. Confusing but typically Scottish. Not clear whether thi memorial moved to here from the former Leighton Church or originated here.
