About the memorial: Sandstone Celtic style cross-the cross is a replica of an ancient fragment at Tullie House Museum, Carlisle, erected on an ancient base which has been in the church for centuries. The Church is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. For advice on getting to the war memorial see the Churches Conservation Trust website Link in the Links section below. One suggestion is that it is located near the entrance to Center Parcs. There is a parking space at the start of the field path opposite Whinfell Park. It is advised that this is a very fast road, so care on the approach is needed. It is suggested to only approach from the Penrith direction. Unveiled by Anthony Lowther of Clifton Hill and dedicated by the Bishop of Carlisle on 7 June 1925-Carlisle Journal 9 June 1925 page 9e
