About the memorial: Wooden Cross with individual brass plates for each casualty. At the centre of the cross shaft there is, unusually for these crosses, a brass dedication plaque, and on the wall beside the cross is a repousse copper plaque to the left which carries Binyon's elegiac words, They shall not grow old/ As we that are left grow old/. The cross was originally in the Lych gate (reference WMO 272828) but had been moved inside sometime before 1996. It is now at the west end of the north wall with the copper dedication plaque being adjacent at the north end of the west wall. The lettering on that plaque is in relief. Note that of the 2 WW2 casualties 2 are buried in CWGC graves in the Churchyard- A O Moffet and George Rigg. Note also that there are 19 names for WW1 on this memorial, but 25 on the external tablet in the Lych gate (WMO/272828). Note that Google maps incorrectly shows the Church as Skelsmergh Community Hall. The Hall is across the road (on the north side) from the Church (which is on the south side).
