About the memorial: two paper cards are placed at the top of the golden-brown coloured card is framed with bevelled edge, hung with a string support. The top card contains the decorative heading of a yellow scroll ribbon entitle 'For King and Country' in old style grotesque red caps. Under this are two decorative medallions on either side of a drawing of a cannon with two flags on both the left and right: the Union and saltire on the left and Scottish Standard and Union of the right. Both medallions have etched drawings, Durisdeer Parish Church on the left and the Burning Bush on the right. Below this decoration is the name 'Durisdeer Parish Church' in gothic upper case and lower case blue letters with red initials and a gold edged black banner entitled 'ROLL of honouR' in mixed upper case and lower case white old style grotesque lettering. This banner is attached to the medallions by a ring chain. The second paper card started the year of the war and names in two columns divided by a vertical line. The names are in black and all caps. Below the names is the explanation of the symbols and the details of the person who presented this Roll of Honour to church.
