From The Scotsman 25 July 1903.-MEMORIAL TO OLD LORETTONIANS-The tenth anniversary of the founding of the founding of Loretto Chapel was celebrated yesterday. In connection with the service, which was conducted by Mr H,. B. Tristram, headmaster, and the Rev. Mr Craze, chaplain, the unveiling of an oak panel to the memory of the Lorettonians who fell in the South African war also took place. In a short address the headmaster said they were gathered on that day to dedicate to the glory of God their humble memorial of those, once boys in the school, gave their lives for their country in the South African war. They were only few amongst the thousands who perished; but they all did their part in leaving that great memorial of their lives - a memorial far greater than any monument of wood or stone - the integrity of the Empire.
