About the memorial: Circular, rough hewn, stone of remembrance set on a tapering plinth. There is a latin cross on the six o'clock face of the stone and a brass plaque with the R.A.F. badge at the top, and the dedication and names below. Nearby is a small pile of wreckage. The pin location is distinctly approximate as it is not at all clear exactly where this memorial is, but it is recorded for someone local to embellish the record.

Dishforth/ who lost their lives when their aircraft crashed here/ 1700 Hrs, 31 January 1944. / (Names)/ "When you go home tell them of us and say/ for their tomorrow, we gave our today." Erected in their honour by Felix's good friend, John Reilly MBE.
