About the memorial: Two stone tablets set on step bases. The left tablet has the inscription and names commemorated in white lettering. The right hand tablet has a mosaic poppy of painted shingle from the local beach. Flanking the two tablets are cut out metal WW1 soldier silhouettes attached to the wall of the museum. Central to the memorial and fixed to the wall is an image of a Red Cross nurse. Erected as part of the 100 year commemoration. Nicky Hindley stonemason.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.
