About the memorial: Wall mounted framed and glazed roll of honour. Reproduction of the 'scrap of paper', the treaty of 1831 guaranteeing the independence and neutrality of Belgium. The names are listed in two columns, on either side of the roll. The names of those who died are in bold. The names are inscribed within illustrations of scrolls. A decorative border edges the scroll, made up of oak leaves and representations of the various countries on the Allied side. The current location of this memorial is not clear- it MAY be at Bethel Church, Burnley Road, Colne- needs verification. Until 1972 the Church was at Waterside, Colne, moved to the Old Library in 1972 and closed in 2012. In 2015 the building was due to be converted for residential use.
