About the memorial: OCTAGONAL COLUMN ON FOUR STEPPED BASE. SURMOUNTED BY EXTREMELY UNUSUAL DEVICE, POSSIBLY A UNIQUE FORM OF CROSS - CRUCIFORM SUPPORT WITH A RING CONTAINING THREE OBJECTS, POSSIBLY THISTLES. There are 4 Bronze Plaques for WW1 (the first of which is the Dedication plaque), and WW2 names are in lead lettering. Made by Messrs. Scott & Rae of Glasgow. The company daybook had the following entry: Order No. 6038, Dailly, Grey cross, Erected November 1921, DayBook 384.
