About the memorial: Octagonal column on four stepped base. Surmounted by extremely unusual device, possibly a unique form of cross - cruciform support with a ring containing three objects, possibly thistles.There are 4 Bronze Plaques for WW1 (the first of which is the Dedication plaque), and WW2 names are in lead lettering. Made by Messrs. Scott & Rae of Glasgow. The company daybook had the following entry: Order No. 6038, Dailly, Grey cross, Erected November 1921, DayBook 384.
