About the memorial: Granite standing stone also known as Barra Na Cabar standing on a prominent hill. Erected by local iron workers. Inscription on slate slab in local museum though there is an inscription on the monument itself as well.. The Monument is north of Muckairn Parish Church with a footpath to the monument from near the church car park at National Grid Referemce NN 00474 31038. Unveiled 25 December 1805 by the Workmen of Lorn Furnace, who had also made it.
