About the memorial: Marble Tablet. Found buried in a builders yard in St Amdrew's Street in September 2020 This memorial is thought to be from the West United Free Church in Galashiels as the 'Scotsman' of August 16th 1920 mentions the death of the Rev William Mowat (his memorial stone is pictured in the above article). The very same 'Scotsman' mentions the unveiling of a memorial tablet in the same church. The Old Gala Club [the Local History Society] have expressed an interest in becoming Custodians of the Memorial.
