About the memorial: Stained glass window, to the right of the pulpit, with two lancets surmounted by oculus and two tracery lights. Inscriptions run across two lancets, from left to right. Oculus light depicts winged angel figure holding a Book of Remembrance with inscription. Oculus flanked by tracery lights depicting an oil lamp on left and dove on right. Upper left-hand lancet depicts a winged angel comforting a woman in mourning, with scrolled inscription. Centre left lancet depicts kneeling soldier in front of Christ figure, with a winged figure in background. At feet of central figures, another scrolled inscription is flanked by shield bearing St George cross and chalice. At base a figure of soldier in WW1 uniform with battlefield in background surmounts dedicatory inscription. Upper right-hand lancet depicts winged figure of St Andrew holding sword, with scrolled inscription. Shield with St Andrews cross and lantern set at figure's feet. In right centre lancet the figure of a soldier in armour holds standard and shield whilst an unknown figure in robes (possibly Moses) blesses him. Scrolled inscription at feet of central figures, flanked by crown and kneeling angel figure. At base a sailor figure shown with sea in background surmounts dedicatory inscription. Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

Before applying for a grant you should read the advice available on War Memorials Trust`s website. The What we can and cannot fund helpsheet explains what types of work the charity can fund.

If you believe your project is eligible for a grant you should complete the Pre-application enquiry form. You will need to be registered and logged in to complete this.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
