About the memorial: The memorial is a lychgate style structure. It is located adjacent to the car park of Frensham Royal British Legion, but is accessible to the public. There is a small shingle area around the memorial, with a flagpole, and the memorial is backed by an evergreen hedge. The World War One names are on a shield carved out of a single piece of oak, while a second board was later added below with the World War Two names.

In most respects the memorial is in good condition, apart from a prominent crack running through the wooden plaque bearing names from World War One.  The surroundings are well cared for by members of Frensham Royal British Legion.
However, this is negated by the fact that the memorial is subsiding at the rear and is leaning backwards at an angle of about 5.5 degrees, which is the same angle as the Leaning Tower of Pisa had reached in 1990 when it was considered to be in urgent need of remedial action.  This indicates that the Frensham RBL memorial is in serious danger of collapsing if steps are not taken to support it, which is the reason for classifying the condition as very bad..
The memorial is a wooden structure set in the sandy local soil, so the problem may be caused by subsidence or by rotting of the wood due to the acidic nature of the soil
