About the memorial: This memorial is a three light stained glass window by Kempe and Co. In the centre light is the Archangel Michael triumphing over a dragon. In each of the outer 2 lights are two roundels surrounded by a laurel wreath and white roses. Top left: A priest giving Communion to 4 soldiers in the ruins of a building. "We therefore pray Thee help Thy servants". Bottom left: St. George on horseback slaying a dragon. "Make them to be numbered with Thy saints". Top right: A soldier standing in battledress with a rifle in the ruins of the battlefield with Christ on the cross. "Whom Thou has redeemed with Thy precious blood". Bottom right: St. Martin on horseback cutting his cloak in two with a beggar and a marching soldier. "In glory everlasting". In the tracery Christ crucified and two angels. "By they Cross and Passion Thou hast redeemed the World". There are wooden panels surrounding and under the windows on which are recorded the dead from two World Wars.

Grants to support the repair and conservation of war memorials are available from the charity War Memorials Trust if it has raised funds. Support is focused on war memorials in Very bad or Poor condition or where there is a serious Concern.

The Pre-application enquiry form is a series of questions to see if your project is eligible. If it is, you will need to provide further details and submit current colour photographs of the war memorial in either a png, gif, jpg or jpeg format.
